Turkey fears volcano eruption, Nemrut Dağı Volcano, Lake Van, Eastern Turkey - 24th Oct 2011

TURKISH seismologists fear that the earthquakes that hit the province of Van on Sunday can cause eruption of Nemrut volcano located northwards of Lake Van, PanArmenian reported.
Mt Nemrut is near Tatvan, a small town in the eastern Anatolian province of Bitlis. The mountain rises from the southwestern shore of Lake Van, and enters the district of Ahlat to the north. Source

Mt Nemrut Dağı is a dormant volcano close to lake Van, near Tatvan a small town in Eastern Anatolian Province of Bitlis, Eastern Turkey. The Mountain rises from the Southwestern Shore of Lake Van at a height of 3.050 m (10.007 ft)
The caldera has a Diameter of 7 by 8 km (4 by 5 Miles) and contains a large cold-water crater lake of about 155 m (509 ft) deep.
There is also a smaller lake where waters reach temperatures of 60 C (140 F) providing Evidence of volcanic activity.
